Projects
Online Projects
- The provision of projects in this area of the workroom is for the sake of affordability. If you are able to access the projects and designs online, you will save expensive international shipping and, just as important, you will avoid customs duty and tariffs. All that you need to do is to subscribe and you can work from what is provided in this area of the workroom.
- Because of publishing contracts, projects that are in books cannot feature here. You need to own those books to access the patterns and the instructions. We are however, able to provide video stitch dictionaries and full size patterns for those projects and there is more about that below.
- To work through the projects, you need to fill in a form at the bottom of each project page, and submit that to us.
- We will send it to you when we receive your request – bearing in mind that it might not be immediate because of time zones – and then you can trace it onto your fabric, log into the workroom and work through the online instructions for the project.
- This subscription entitles you to one project pattern a month (this includes the full size patterns for the book projects).
Stitch Dictionaries
- Currently there are 43 stitch dictionaries available.
- They cover projects in the Hazel Blomkamp books and the Studio Designs range.
- Each stitch dictionary includes all the stitches and techniques used in the project.
- They are overwhelmingly accompanied by video clips, with the odd one not having a video. Where that happens, the stitch is described in detail.
Full Size Patterns
- The patterns for the projects in any book are displayed in the pages at the back of the book.
- These patterns are not necessarily the size that they should be, because of space constraints and more to the point, paper sizes.
- It can be quite a task to get the patterns to the right size to be able to transfer it onto your chosen fabric.
- That is why, in this area of the workroom you can request the full size patterns for the projects in the all of the project books.
- Follow the instructions that appear below each pattern and when we receive your email, we will send you the full size pattern with printing instructions – bearing in mind that it might not be immediate because of time zones.
- This will make it easier for you to trace the pattern onto your fabric using a light box, dressmakers carbon, or whatever method you prefer.
- This subscription entitles you to one project pattern a month (this includes the online project patterns).
The Shopping Mall
- A shopping list is provided for all of the online projects.
- You access that shopping list by clicking on a link in the page, it opens in another page and it is printable.
- In the Shopping Mall you will find recommendations for purchasing those materials, divided by country, once again meaning that you will be able to save on expensive shipping and tariffs.
- Each list is far from complete and we welcome suggestions for additions to the lists for your country.
